Kid Approved Chicken Fingers Recipe

If you are tired of fast food and feel guilty for feeding your kids low quality frozen chicken nuggets, you'll be happy to know that making your own fresh chicken fingers is actually quite easy. Just follow this simple chicken fingers recipe for a great tasting meal that kids go crazy for. Offer some dipping sauces such as ranch, buffalo sauce or BBQ sauce for extra fun. We recommend slipping in some carrots and celery on that tray too.

There are many possible side dishes that you might serve with chicken fingers. You might consider potatoes, either baked potatoes, oven fried potatoes or French fries. A nice cup of chopped up fruits make a nice healthy side dish. Steamed vegetables also go well with chicken fingers such as broccoli, carrots, steamed green beans or even asparagus. A side salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and grated carrots can also be a perfect side dish that most kids like too.

 Breading Ingredients:
1 lb chicken breast (sliced into strips) OR chicken tenderloins for ease
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp sea salt
¾ cup breadcrumbs (we like Manischewitz breadcrumbs - no HFCS)
1 tsp cayenne pepper (more if you like them spicy)
¼ cup flour

1 egg beaten lightly

Directions:
Heat canola oil (medium high heat) in a pan deep enough to fry the chicken strips in. Rinse chicken strips with water, pat dry, then dip the chicken strips into the egg mixture. After that, dip them into the flour mixture coating all sides evenly. Gently lay each strip into the pan, turning as needed until the strips are cooked.

Enjoy!
